Jean Salisbury Campbell

Jean wrote her first play—The Unknown Chair—at age eight, an inquisitive response to the executions of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg. The show, deemed unfit for children, closed mid-first act on her grandmother’s Main Street, Canisteo, New York, front porch.  Undaunted, and full of even more questions, Jean continued to write for answers. Such inquisitiveness regarding her husband, Doyle’s, childhood inspired Double Edge.

Jean joined Friday Night Writers in 2002 and was later accepted into Florida International’s Creative Writing Program. Her work has been published in volumes of Chicken Soup for the Soul and Not Your Mother’s Book.
